Last updated 22 September 2026. The company that will operate Courier Drivers will be named here when it is registered.
Controller
The data controller will be the company that operates Courier Drivers. Company name, number, registered office and a dedicated privacy email are not published yet. Until they are, use the contact form. Do not attach identity documents.
ICO registration
No Information Commissioner’s Office registration number is published here yet. The operating company will pay the data protection fee and add the registration reference before Courier Drivers processes personal data as a live public business.
Check the public register or apply at the ICO data protection fee pages. You can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.
What we collect
Account: name, email, display name, hashed password, role, marketing and communication preferences. We also send a one-time confirmation email so we know the inbox exists before anyone can sign in.
Driver profiles (if you create one): general location, work type, vehicle types, service areas and a biography you choose. Home address, date of birth and document numbers are not shown on public profiles and should not be uploaded here.
Forum posts, applications, saved listings, calculator saves, academy progress, contact messages, and audit records of admin actions.
We do not store licences, DBS certificates or identity scans. Register those with Courier Passport. If you later connect a status, this site only sees verification state — not the files. Imported listing metadata, if present, is labelled as imported.
Why we use it
To run your account, confirm the email inbox exists, show listings, moderate the forum, send messages you opted into, improve the product, and meet UK law (including UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). Legal bases we rely on: contract (the account and confirmation email), legitimate interests (security, moderation, product operations), consent (marketing), and legal obligation (complaints, ICO, tax records we are required to keep).
Who we share it with
Hosting and email providers who process data on our instructions. Administrators and moderators acting for the operator of Courier Drivers. Operators see what you send in an application — still no identity documents through this site. We do not sell your data.
How long we keep it
Account data while the account is open. After a fulfilled deletion request we remove or irreversibly anonymise personal data unless a law says we must keep a record (for example an audit row that an account was deleted). Contact messages and logs are kept only as long as needed to handle the request or secure the service.
Your rights — export and deletion
From Settings you can request a copy of your data or request deletion. That button does not instantly email a file or wipe the account. It records a request against your account and writes an audit entry.
A person acting for the operator of Courier Drivers then fulfils it. For an export we prepare the account and profile fields we hold and send them to the email on the account. For deletion we close the account, revoke sessions and remove or anonymise personal data. We aim to finish within 30 days. If we need more time we will say so.
You can also use the contact form from the same address as the account. You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and the right to complain to the ICO.
Cookies and analytics
We use an httpOnly session cookie (cd_session) to keep you signed in. It is not used for advertising. See the cookie notice for the full list and how to change your choice.
Optional Google Analytics (GA4) loads only after you accept in the cookie banner. It counts page views and basic usage. Advertising features stay off. Google may process that data outside the UK and EEA. If you reject optional analytics, the script is not loaded. Search Console verification is a meta tag only and is not used to track browsing on this site.
